Wusthof knives are precision-forged and require more than 40 steps in their manufacturing process to ensure the quality of the finished product. For blade sharpening, the company uses Precision Edge Technology that is computed based on the individual laser measurements of each blade. This process ensures consistent results for each knife, sharpened to an angle of 14-degrees per side. While many of the knife-making steps are performed by robots, tasks such as finishing off the edges, surfaces, and the final honing of the blade are completed manually.

Wusthof has received several Houseware Design Awards in the cutlery category and is consistently given high ratings by Cook’s Illustrated Magazine. The knife maker frequently collaborates with famous chefs from all over the world including Martha Stewart, Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, James Martin, and Emeril Lagasse, who all endorse and use the company’s knives.
